So I've done a couple boat mods thanks to all the info available here, now I'd like to pose a question to anyone who'd give me their opinion.

I will be able to purchase either of these boats for around $700. They both have been left outside without covers for a couple years so a complete resto will be needed.
My question is, which one do I choose and why?

Hopefully the pictures load, I took a couple of each.

I like the BT better than the FM, it looks more complete and looks to have better storage at the bow deck.

I vote both you can never have to many boats. Fix them up sale the one you like the least and maybe clear enough to pay for the keeper

I have an Alumacraft Classic 16 which is basically the same hull as the Backtroller and I will tell you there is a world of difference between the construction of the Alumacraft and the Nymph. The Alumacraft is also probably about 200lbs heavier and also has a higher capacity rating.

My opinion, at $700.00 the Alumacraft is a steal. In good clean condition in my area those boats are still bringing $2500 to $3500!

I think I'm leaning towards the backtroller. I like the overall design better, but I really like the storage in the rear bench seat, and the location of the live well on the fishing machine.

Hadaveha - my wife won't let that slide, but I would love to buy both. I think it's a blast fixing up old boats.

One of the best things about restoring an old boat is that you can design and build it any way you want! Take the features you like from both boats and incorporate them into one.
