And here is a portion of the ignition switch circuit from the service manual
The Red/Purple wire shown off the "I" Terminal goes to pin #6 of the plug back at the engine.
The Purple wire on the "B" Terminal should go to the +12 volt source to all the gauges and originates from pin #5 of the plug at the engine. I am pretty sure when the key goes to "off" the +12 volts is eliminated from this terminal and that is what shuts everything down. So, this one is obviously wrong.
The red/yellow one is the one that get's the "start" signal when you turn the key all the way and ends up going to the solenoid for the starter. So, if you can crank your engine, I think you have this one in the correct spot.
