I am repairing an 85 Supra SunSport Inboard and I noticed that the transom only had Plywood where the swim deck mounts are and the loop mount... So basically 4 small pieces of 1/2" to 5/8" plywood for support...
2 of the swim deck supports were rotting out so I just cut all of them out and I am going to redo them...
Was this just done to save money?? Or is there another reason I am not thinking of why they didn't build in Plywood support across the whole transom?
I am going to use 3/4 and cover the entire transom unless anyone thinks I shouldn't or has a better idea.
I noticed that the stringers varied in width from 3/4" to 2" throughout the stinger... Is this typical?
I am replacing them and I am thinking of going with 2" PT all the way through instead of splicing a bunch of remnants together and glassing it.
