Hey everyone...I've got an '85 Evinrude 40 VRO that I'm trying to figure out if someone before me removed the VRO and replaced it with a straight fuel pump or what...

It looks to be like a straight fuel pump has been installed, as there is no external oil tank and the oil intake line on the motor housing appears to be plugged up. The thing I'm wondering about is from the fuel-exit line on the fuel pump, it then splits into 3 or 4 smaller lines that run directly into the carburetors...does that sound about right for a VRO swap to a standard fuel pump?

Yep. But they may have left the vro there to act as the fuel pump. The vro is rather large and disc shaped. About 3.5" across. A standard fuel pump is rectangualr about 1.5X2.5"
