Just bought boat at auction-1985 Mercruiser W 260

Checked eng oil--looked good
Pulled plugs and spayed cylinders with some oil, cranked eng and put plugs in
After hooking up ext gas to engine got it to start
Put the muffs on with water and started
Engine sounded good, oil press at about 33 @ 4 K RPM[
Shut down
Checked oil--It was foamy:blue:
Last boat I bought had 4.3 and same thing happened
when I checked engine,found valley in block was cracked at the water ports
I assume this will be the same?
Not sure why people are too dumb or lazy to drain the system!
