I have an 86' Rude XP 150 and I was curious if I could swap the cowling out for a newer model. Ive got the motor running great and just want to give the old Ranger a facelift. If it is possible any idea which cowlings will fit? I have the resources to do some modifications if necessary.

That a crossflow and a cowling from late 70's to 1989 will fit, the newer cowlings wont fix due to midsection and powerhead changes...

Any crossflow V6 cowling will work. Up through 1991-their last year of production. Since you have an XP, you will want the cowling with the larger performance vents on the side, typical on the XP/GT engines. The big bore looper cowlings are not the same. Why not just refinish the one you have? Your cowling has the aluminum applique's so you won't have to worry about special decals. Bombardier still makes the spray paint.

I was wanting to update the cowlings because I like the way the newer rounded cowlings look. My paint on the motor does not match the boat so I will just mix some paint to match and look at making some custom decals.
