Hello Everybody,

Newbie here, sorry... I have a 85 Yamaha 115 HP V4 (115ETLK) 2-stroke outboard. It has a hard time starting when cold. I have read about the choke solenoid problem and mine is fine, the solenoid is not even attached, so the choke will close up all the way (manually). Once it finally starts, I can shut it right off and it will start back up on one crank. The spark plugs are new and the motor runs great once started.

Does anybody have any idea of what I should check or do? A buddy suggested adjusting the air/fuel ratio on the carbs, he believes it is too rich because you can smell gas when trying to start. If it was too rich or flooding, wouldnt it not beable to start at all until drained or dried?

Any suggestions would be greatful, thanks!
