85hp chrysler cd modules

I have a 85hp chrysler. I have went through 3 cd's in 4 years. I want to change over to solid state if i can. Or just run a coil and points. I don't know how to do this....PLEASE HELP!!!<br />Any websites that can show me how would be great. Thanks....my email is cabin4us@msn.com<br /> any other ideas would help too.

The CD system is solid state since it uses transistors to handle switching. Something is causing the capacitive discharge module to burn out. Double check all of your connections and replace the coil.
