Do not use starting fluid on a 2 cycle engine.
1- it removes what little oil is in the engine.
2- It doesn't supply any oil, so you are running the engine without oil, and it will soon die.

If you need to squirt something in the carbs to get it going, use pre-mixxed fuel in a squirt bottle.

But more importantly, find out what is wrong and fix it.

Start with the basics, check for spark, fuel, and compression.

BTW sorry.

The correct mix is 1 part oil TCW-3 to 50 parts gas.
6oz of oil to 1 gallon of gas or 1Qt oil to 6 gallons gas. Use regular no premium needed here.
Next thing I would do is get some TCW-3 OIL and spray it into the cylinders. Remove the spark plugs first. Tun the motor over with the starter for 10 seconds BUT have the Kill switch off so It will not start.

Spray oil again and turn it for no more than ten seconds.

Put plugs in and pump the fuel bulbn hard. You did mix oil and gas right? Then start it ewither on a hose or at the lake. Never start the motor without water to the lower unit or you will kill the water pump known as the impeller.

Do a search and you will find the maintence items here some where I am getting tired of typing them out ROSCOE!

the gas&oil are mixed correctly do you think the 5gal of 2yr old gas could be fouling the whole tank or maybe there is water in tank if so why only problem at start up and high end
