85 hp Force rebuild 5 years ago. Check the compression after apr. 30 Hr of running and all three cylinders showing 90psi. Will the motor get worst? Is still dependable?
The fact all three are still within 10% of each other it could indicate it could just be the gauge used or the procedures used to get the compression numbers that make the reading lows. A typical old motor like this should have around 120~145 PSI compression but due to different gauges and procedures, hence different readings. I'll say the motor is still dependable and I do not believe it will get any worse as long as it is operated and maintained properly.
Thank you. I got other gauge(rented from Auto Zone) and the reading was 116, 119, 120. Looks like the first gauge is junk. Probably, if I'll use pro one, that will be
different reading as well.
You remove all the plugs as you test?
Let it spin at least 5-8 times.
Good hot battery?
My gauge working on my 2 motors reads about 150 all 6 cylinder.
Your is probably close to that.
You in the US?
Maybe someone close can help with a good test?
But like Jiggz said, all 3 being close is the important thing.
