85hp johnson thermostat

i have a 1976 85hp johnson outboard model# 85etlr76g.<br />where is the thermostat located at and does it have a warning buzzer, if so where is it at.

The thermostats on your motor . Are in the adapter housing . Its at the top of exhaust housing , under powerhead. You can see it easily from the back of the motor. <br /> The temp switch , is in the head , you should see a wire coming from the head.<br /> If you plan on changing thermo's etc.<br /> Get an OEM manual for your motor.<br /> Good-Luck,<br /> KYHunter

Take a look at the two large curved hoses at the bottom center of the powerhead (between the cylinders). <br /><br />The hoses lead down to the housing for the thermostat.
