1987 85HP was sitting for awhile. After general maintenance took to lake idles but when move to WOT, runs a while then cuts and dies. Can only keep running to mid throttle. Thinking of carb and fuel pump kits. What is the right part numbers to order off iBoats for Model 856X7A? Two of the triple carbuerators look the same but the third different.

You can look up your parts here at iboats or mercruiserparts.com.

Does the bulb get soft when the engine quits? See if you can keep it running buy pumping the ball. If so, then replace the three check valves in the fuel pump also as they are sticking. They only cost $5 apiece so I would replace them when rebuilding the carbs.

As for the part numbers, it is normal as the inlet on the #1 carb is different from #2 and #3. 2 and 3 both have a 'T' inlet as the 3 has the inlet line from the pump and feeds 2 and 2 has a line from 3 and feeds 1. 1 only has an 'L' fitting as it does not feed another carb. You can actually interchange them if you wanted to change the fittings around.
