I have a non vro fuel pump that I have used for about five years. It broke. I want to replace it with a cheaper pump. I heard an 88spl pump will work. They say there is a spot my block to bolt the pump to with just an in and out for fuel. The vacumn comes from where it bolts to the block. I looked at my block and do not see this removable plate. I need to know what pump to get and how to mount it.

get the right pump..if you do not get enough fuel to the carbs you will cause a lean condition and burn up your motor quickly. yu can get rebuild kits for your fuel pump.

The right pump is $400. I heard that a $135 88 hp pump will fit. I can't figure out where it goes on my block. My pump can't be rebuilt. It is leaking internally from the plastic housing.

What SparkieBoat said. Get a kit and rebuild your pump is your best option.

I have heard of others that use an older style pump, like the one you mentioned on the 88 special motor. you could also look up a pump for a 70s model 115..I cannot emember what the part number is but there is one that has a pulse hose connection. The way over priced fuel pump (and high failure rate) is just one of the reasons I am not happy with OMC poducts. wish i could put a yamaha fuel pump on them.
