i have a 19 foot trophy f/s with 125 hp outboard
i ran it a few times on the lake and the tilt trim went south i still was able to run it without the tilt trim although it was hard loading and unloading it. it ran about 40 mph
when trimmed up and about 35 mph without the tilt n trim. i was pulling into the boat ramp
parking lot and the motor bounced off the motor tote and i drug the prop on the payment. i filed the prop on site as best i could and took the boat out anyway. we were having a small club tourney that day. i ran the boat out and the best i could do was about 10 or 12 mph. when the tourney started i went out behind 3 other boats and the boat jump up to about 30 mph.
i shut it down to fish an island then when i went to leave the boat would only go about 10 or 12 mph again. i bought a new comp prop and repaired the skeg. took it out today and the boat was still slow. if i put it in neutral
and rev the motor it sound fine then you put in gear and take off and the engine justs bogs down it jumps and misses at about 3/4 throttle
like it wants to take off but it wont it juts putts along do you have any ideas on what might be the cause? (ive replaced the plugs)
(just and afterthought:when you put the motor in neutral after you ran for awhile then you can
push the throttle all the way open and it wont
reach any kind of rpm could it be something to do with the throttle linkage

Could be something simple, like the motor flooding out from a leaky fuel pump diaphram.

Or it could be much more serious, like a bent prop shaft.

Gonna have to go over the engine real close to find out.

Start with the basics, check compression, check lower unit oil for water intrusion, check spark.
Check fuel pump, if its leaking into the block, it will flood the bottom cylinder.

To check the propshaft, you need a guage to measure it for run out.

I believe that the linkage is limited while in neutral. It will allow throttle in gear but when in the neutral position a piece on the shift cable blocks the throttle cable from reaching WOT.

I don't if this applies to your engine but , in the Seloc manual for Chrysler they say to never run the engine without the prop.

Do you tilt your motor up when you transport it? If so that is probably where the gas is coming from under the carb. When you tilt it up they leak out
