86 30HP Johnson Sounds Like It's Stuck on Weeds

My 30HP Johnson has been running great for almost 2 years thanks to help from this board. Now more problems. The motor starts good, it idles fine, slow and medium speed are good, but when I start to go fast the motor all the sudden revs high like it's stuck on weeds. I've done everything I can think. Took apart the carb and cleaned it even though it was spotless. Switched out the gas tank and gas line. Cleaned the spark plugs. I though maybe the fuel pump wasn't pumping enough gas when I was running it high so I tried pumping the bulb with no luck.
Anybody have any ideas?

So it seems like the motor is doing OK at low to mid speeds, but then at some point it revs high and won't go any faster?

Do you think it could be a spun prop.? Never been stuck on weeds so not sure what you're describing. Best of luck. Rick.

If your getting full RPM at full throttle and not going any where fast..it sounds like the prop is spun....do a test to see....take prop off...make a mark on the prop body and the center hub so they align ..then take boat out and go full throttle...remove prop see if the lines are still aligned if not the center rubber hub is spun....you can get a new hub pressed in.....at a prop shop or a marina..

I would buy a spare prop also...some good prices here on Iboats...

A spun prop.....I like the sounds of that! I'll check it out this weekend. I was afraid someone was going to say I had a gear issue or a problem with something in the shaft.

I marked the prop and the hub as suggested. Took it out for a ride and opened it up. Same high pitched engine noise. I inspected the markings and they still line up. The engine ran fine all weekend as long as I didn't go above "medium speed".
Any other suggestions??
