i have a general question here.

im trying to reassemble the carb and im stuck because i am not sure which way the float pin rests on the metal arm that connects the float to the motor. i am assuming that the pin should go rubber up. meaning the rubber tip should point up into that fuel port thingy. im not an expert and im learning i appologize for the confustion.


another thing is that piece of metal that connects the float to the motor has a small hole that looks like the pin would fit into it perfectly. however when i reattached the float with a fabricated axel, the holes don't line up.

Sounds like you mean the float in the carburetor. If so, yes the point goes into the opening. The pin should have a small wire that holds it onto the float arm. It slips around one side of the arm.

well i don't care i mean this mysterious wire you talk about that holds the pin into the float arm is missing. what does it look like??

how is it possible that the holes the pin goes into do not line up?

i need a diagram.

The "needle" or pin connects to the float by a thin wire that hooks on to the top of the needle and just lays across the float arm.
It is not securely attached.
Don't worry about the hole in the float arm and don't try to line anything up with the needle. Hook the wire to the needle then lay it across the float then stick the needle in the hole and then run the pin that holds the float to the carb through one post then through the float holes and then to the other post. The little tab on the float arm goes down towards the carb body if I remember right.

If you want to see what the thin wire looks like just go to iboats store and look up a carb kit for your motor.

If you lost the "thin wire" and you don't feel like ordering a carb kit go down to a lawn mower repair shop and ask them if they have one laying around that will work.

ok.

well I may still have the wire.

the thing is i have this id tag that was attached to the carb in some way with a wire that looks like it would go nicely into the floats arm and hold it in position.

I needed to remove my carb because the choke was stuck. i have fixed the problem but I'm having difficulty with the float.

I need to know if someone has info for me or a link that shows my motor specifically and the part I need .

Otherwise a close up diagram of a similar carb assembly would be nice.
