86 50 Evinrude

Going to look at a boat tomorrow. It's a Blue Fin. 86 16' with the same year Evinrude 50. I plan to do a compression check, lower unit oil and overall cleanliness, but what else to look for. Seems as if we had one of these in the late 70's and never touched it other than plugs and lu oil. Here's a link to the CL site...

rick, i have run so many of these things. simple as a lawn mower, easy to work on. very little changes from year to year. super great motor.

you know to take it for a test run. lower unit oil check before starting. compression and spark. the carbs are easy to do, linc n sinc is easy. i have a thread in the engine faq, on that particular carb rebuild.

it should go very nicely on that boat.
