I have a 60h as the title indicates. It seems to blow blue smoke like crazy. I use premium non ethynol gas and seafoam for the fuel. The previous owner said he did as well. It runs really well so i am wondering if all this smoke is the VRO or seafoam or carb?

How much seafoam are you using? It smokes like crazy. Really no need to use it - clean gas and regular maintenance is all you need.

If you have an fuel restriction or air leak ahead of the VRO it will tend to over oil. Plumb in a clear line between cowel and VRO, tee in a vacuum gauge, look for less than 4 in/Hg. Also note excessive air in fuel line.

It appears im using too much. I purchased the boat from an older gentleman who claim to use one can per 20 gallon tank. I did the same. However I foolishly aded the entire can without checking to see how much fuel i actually put in. Im guessing it has too much seafoam in it. I plan on taking it out again today an adding more fuel (i believe it is down to a half tank). We will see if that helps. Thankyou for the reply and wish me luck.

No need for seafoam or premium fuel in that motor. Check the clamps on the VRO could have a broken one. An air leak in the VRO lines is the leading cause of excessive smoking. Are you running the motor out of fuel each time you use it.

I used the boat tonight and added 11 gallons of fuel. to begin it seemed the same, but once the older fuel in the lines was replaced it seemed to diminish. At the end of the night I forgot about it, but didnt realize any smoke. This is good because before it was hard not to notice. Hopefully this solves the issue. I will double check the oil lines for cracks and such tomorrow to make sure. Thanks Scott and Jdawg for the tips!
