86 90hp Mercury Power Trim

Hello everyone!

I have a 1986 Mercury 6 cyl, 90 hp with power trim/tilt. If I hold the trim button on the controls, the motor goes all the way up. Is it supposed to stop at a certain point? Most boats I am familiar with, the trim stops at a certain point and then you can tilt it up the rest of the way.

Some have trim limiters and some don't.
