12footer.....thank you.

Prop..I can only increase the dia.3/8"+-.
not sure of the pitch. called a dealer who looked up the model and said I had the right prop. (amazing.didn't try too sell me one. must'v been headin out the door).
I knew the pitch but forgot it. can't look at it cuz she's back in the water. found another marina that doesn't close till the snow flies. stroked again.

how do I tell if it's a spun prop?

Trim tabs...... got 'em...tried 'em on the bow down setting and she slowed down more.

Bulkhead drain plugs???????..what are they,
where are they, why are they there, ..how does water get in......

MikeM2.....move your buisness up here. I know lots of people like me who could make you rich.if you can't make it,send flowers.

Oarmaster....alright.....I know....12K....don't rub it in. new galv. trailer though. I did talk to 3 mechanics about this stuff and they are all willing to do anything I want done. no one has yet said "lets think about this". I guess they don't get paid for thinking. you can shear a sheep a thousand times but you can only skin it once.I'm in this forum to avoid a skinnin'.

ODDD1.....thanks for the "maybe get a new boat" advice, but I did shop around. saw bigger, saw smaller. I love the layout of my boat. It's just what I wanted. I like runnin' it up on a beach, get out the lawnchairs, beer and BBQ and relaxin. thats really all I want out of boating is to do just that.it's light enough that I can pole myself off the beach with no probs.

To the group....

Iv'e seen too many people who serve their boat. with all of your combined knowlege, you will help my boat serve me. after all, thats what it's all about. (isn't it??)hmmm....

oh yea, a guy sold me a ticket for a cruise in Cuba. leavin tonight. bon voyage.

A spun hub in the prop will act like a slipping clutch on a car.
Bulkhead drains are under the deck. They are just a hole cut thru the cross supports at the lowest point. These holes allow water to drain from the bow all the way to the back (where the bilge pump is).
Water can get in a boat in many ways.So many,I wont go in to them all.
The problem comes in when the water that DOES get in,cannot get out. Leaves, and small twigs that get under the deck, can plug the holes in the bulheads, plugging them up.
Water wieghs 8lbs (I think) per gallon.
If you had 50gallons of water riding around with you, that would be more than 400lbs.
You know as much as I do,as to wether or not there is trapped water under there. It's just a sugjestion, same as the prop and trim tabs. They (trim tabs you have on this boat) must be the fixed type,as opposed to adjustable under way. I had a set of those on a 23ft PennYan,and ended up removing them until I could find a set of used electric rams. That made all the difference in the world,to be able to CONTROL those tabs. I would trim down to get the boat to plane, then trim up to gain top end and fuel ecconomy.
I just hope your next season is a better one. The more bugs you get out of the boat now, the less you will have left.
