I am looking to buy a little 1986 14 foot Bayliner. The boat is apparently in great shape interiorwise and hullwise, it just has a small problem with the outboard. I think the outboard is a 50 HP Force. The owner said that he ran the boat all last year, but none this year. He said that he recently tried to start it, but it would not fire up. He thought it needed a tune up, but another potential buyer looked at it really closely and said that he needed new ignition coils for the engine. Are ignition coils expensive to replace?? He was asking $1100 for the boat, but due to him needing to move this week (and the discovered ignition coil problem), he was interested in my offer of $700. Would this boat be a nice weekend boat that is worth the fix??

Thanks

Ignition coils aren't too expensive to replace.
I'm not familiar with the boat but I would check it real close as far as floors being solid and the transom if you are considering buying the boat.
