I recently purchased a 1986 Evinrude 50hp with power tilt. The motor runs great. The one problem with the motor though, is that one of the bolts that connects the motor to the hydraulic shocks on the power trim seems to keep popping loose. When I pull it out, it's a regular hex bolt, but it seems to be in some sort of casing that slides into the hole on the motor mounting plate. Is something broken? I could probably JB weld the thing into the hole, or I could insert a heli-coil with a new hardened bolt, but I'd prefer to do it right. Any advice?

Also, does anyone know if this motor has an alternator?

Re: 86 Evinrude 50 power tilt bolt

Thanks to another post with the link to the parts catalog, I figured it out.
The tilt pivot bolt is broken right at the threads. Looks like I'll be doing the helicoil this weekend...
