hi there. I have a 1981 glastron ssv 151 with a 70 hp johnson which pulls badly to the right. If you let go of the steering wheel it will turn you right around. Any ideas on what could be causing this and a way to fix it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for any answers.

Adjust the trim tab - thats the small fin that hangs down above the propeller. Turn the rear of the fin right (in the direction of the turn).

Use small incremental adjustments. The tab uses the force of the propeller driven water to compensate for engine torque.

Also make sure that your engine is in the trimmed up position after you get up on plane.

i have a 1971 50, with the old cable pulley system. i worked with mine, and can now turn the steering wheel loose , and it maintains a straight course.
