My brother just traded into a well kept 1986 Skeeter. It is a very nice looking and running boat. He did not get any manual with the boat. He says there is an 8x10 plate at the front of the boat with a 3 position switch labelled 2-12v., 12v., 12-24v. and below that it says charger. He says there is a plug at the bottom of the plate that looks like a trailer plug. It has a cover cap on it and it has a three prong pin plug in it. He is wondering if this is some kind of on board charger and takes a special cord? Any info on this would be appreciated. Thanks . . .

Re: 86 Skeeter SF-175-d charger question

OK, I guess that was a little to complicated . . . Actually my brother was told that the three prong plug was for a cord to the electric trolling motor and the switch selected the power range for that motor. I am a steelhead and salomon fisherman myself so it was foreign to me. However, the more I read about the Skeeter boat the more I appreciate its purpose. I have done some bass fishing in the past and admit that it was great fun. And, it is a really great looking boat. I am looking forward to the 55mph this particular boat is said to be capable of. Skeeter says they have the best and driest ride of any high speed bass boat out there. they have been at it long enough that they should be.
