87 125 wont stay running at W.O.T

I have a 125 that wont stay running at wot. i can run it all day at 3/4 but not all the way open. i got a NEW "not used" fuel pump but it did not fix the problem. anyone out there have any ideas?

Maybe check your float bowl levels. If they are too low you could be running out of fuel at WOT. Another thing to check, without engine running of course, is if any of the wiring from the stator rubbing on something at WOT. Just engage it in gear and put at WOT and check your wiring out. The stator rotates and gives you your full advanced timing at WOT and it could have some wires rubbed through somewhere. Also look at any wiring around the throttle linkage that could be getting rubbed on at full throttle.

Possible fuel problem. Be sure the vent screw on fuel tank is open.

how do i check the float bowl levels?
