Original owner; Trying to understand how to take the Engine Lock off. This is the part that after you tilt the engine Up you swing these ears down then lower the engine until these ears rest on the mounting bracket. It looks like all I have to do it pull out the Drift pins (which sounds easier then it probably is) then pull these ears out either side.
Any help would be appreciated

yep thats about all there is to it. if yours has the plasitc block under the bracket on the stbd side be aware the most likly you will destroy it. I always just buy all the bushings levers and block assy. you will have to reuse the serrated pin.
Good luck and keep posting

Yes, The plastic block is what the Drift pins go into ( on the starboard side).
OK... that usually breaks, good to know.
It's just that the past few years I have to spray the heck out of it to get it to move. Rust buildup. I hope the Yammy place has a Microfische of this area and I can see what I need. I was going to do something with Nylon bushings, I didn't know that it probably has them already. Is there a 'real name for what I'm talking about?
Thanks for the quick reply
