I have a 2.7 L 87 OMC seadrive recently did a link and sync new plugs /wires compression 120 all cylinders spark tester shows good sprark in all 6 cyl. all carbs rebuilt last season. VRO broke replaced with 2 mechanical f/p with premchecked timing last pm it was off a degree and picked up some rpms with one turn of the timing adavance screw. There was a fuel leak at the primer pump I bipassed it and put on a fuel ball. It ran very poorly prior to replacing the fuel primer with a bulb primer. would not reach upper rpms at all now it will run at 4500-5000 rpms but drops to 3800 and fluctuates back to 4500. There is also some occassional backfiring at high rpms. I will try running it on a tank of fresh gas any other thoughts?
