87 4.3 merc carb issues

Well,took new(used) 87 4 winns with 4.3 merc out today,well it ran for about 5 min! Rplaced battery cause it wouldnt start and ran batt down,put new batt and it fired up quick.Took it across lake and back,on the way back it acted like it ran out of fuel..Cranked on it and it would not start,ran down new batt(i thought) and i was stranded,got a tow..I took aircleaner off and carb had 2 in of fuel pooled up in it..Smelled flooded,and charged batt back up and starter just completly quit just clicks now..Im gonna follow sticky on troubleshooting starter,but whats yalls opinion on the carb? Floats stuck?? And where can i get a replacement slave solenoid for starter?? Thanks for any advice...Remember that with new batt it started great first time and then just quit 5min later..

Start by rebuilding the carb. Make sure ALL electrical connection are clean and tight.

Where would be a good place for carb kit and slave solenoid?I have the part # for carb kit,but having hard time finding the right slave solenood..

Errr, try that funny place about boats, with an 'i' at the beginning.... iBoats... that's it!

What carbie you got? 2bbl or 4?

Well,i tested from the switch all the way back,everything tested good..So,removed starter and tried to bench test it..It wouldnt even do anything there! So maybe a rebuild is in order!!
