Hi all, Well its that time again to put the boat in the water and I ran into a problem. I started her up fine and it sounded good. Let it run for a few minutes then gave it some rpms, then the buzzer went off. Not sure what the buzzer is. Wel after I shut it down it will not start back. I got power but when i turn the key i get nothing, no noise or anything. any help will be great thanks

Re: 87 85hp force

I am new to FOrce's but from what I have read the buzzer is the "over temp" alarm. That goes off when the engine overheats.
DId you put it back in neutral before trying to restart? I forgot that one the water once and freaked out. I was out 7 miles.
Did you have muffs on, or where you in the water?
You might need a new impeller.

Hope this helps, and these guys are great on this site.

Mike

Hey, had the same problem this year minus buzzer. I am assuming that your batteries are good and fully charged. Check all your electrical connections, make sure they are clean and tight. If that dont do it check your starter solenoid, you should hear a click when you turn the key to start.....no click usually means bad solenoid. Oh yeah, forgot the first check, duh,,take a look at your fuses make sure they arent blown.....If you gonna keep the Force be sure to get yourself a manual, either SELOC or Clymer, I prefer the Clymer (more detail). I have had my Force for a couple years now and really learning alot. The guys here are a great help as well.

I had the same problem with mine, all I had to do was shake the throttle lever a couple times and it started. I guess the switch is in need of replacing. Check it out before you go through a bunch of other things. Good luck. ;)
