1994 4.3LX with Thunderbolt IV and I'm replacing the original ignition sensor with part#87-892150Q02. Just wondering where these two "sleeves" go? (see picture)

Thanks,

That same sensor is used as the upgrade for older engines with the ignition module bolted to the port exhaust elbow (yours is mounted to the outside of the distributor. Just as an aside, make sure you have a wire between the dissy body and a good ground. If there isn't one, you might find a spare ground wire in the harness right next to the dissy, use that wire on one of the module mounting screws.... Don't ask me how I know  the story is too long.... ). The sleeves are used to insulate the new connections for those older systems. If you have any exposed connections, you can use those heat-shrink sleeves to cover them....

Thanks for your answer. Actually I first attempted to replace the sensor with Teleflexmarine 18-5116-1. Boat ran ok but got a strong burn smell when raising the throttle above 1500rpm and engines got no power. I put back the original sensors (2 wires only) and boat run ok. The new sensors GND wire was connected to the battery GND rod on the back of the engine. Multimeter continuity test between the dissy body and GND ok. Would you think that missing GND could be the problem? If yes I'm interested to know your story.
