Can anyone recommend an inexpensive repair for the bottom of my 87 Bayline Bass boat. I finally took this out last week after going over everything (bought used) and it ran great! It was taking on about one gallon of water every 15 minutes. Took it home and inspected. Found the leak to be around the outlet (or inlet) for the bail tank. Anyway, fixed that up as well as some old screw holes in the rear. While I was under the boat for the first time I noticed that it look as if the last owner had the boat on a gravel road for 1/4 mile. About 50% of the keel has gel coat damage. No holes just a lot of gel missing. Thought maybe there would be a product out there that could be applied to correct this. Any info would be much help as I really don't know that much about this. My last boat was a 2006 that the ex got! Really!

marine tex, it was probably from beaching the boat, in sandy area, and not taking care when loading.

Make that two votes for marine tex. It is a two part epoxy, and very durable after it cures.

I was thinking marine tex would be the way to go and thanks for the confirmations! I will pick some up tonight and get it done.
