Im hoping for some good news here. I have a 87 bayliner capri that im restoring with a 2.3 ford motor that has a cracked block. Someone told me i could swap to a 3.0 motor. Not sure if he is just trying to sell it to me or will it work. Will a 3.0 bolt right in? If so will i have any problems or little perks that pop up? Thank You !!

Only if you find a complete swap.3.0 is a gm engine it needs all the parts to swap to that ford powered boat.As far as wiring in the old boats are about the same as in you dont have to worry about ecms and such.Id just find a ranger or mustang engine and swap it for marine use.Or a service block for yours.

Save yourself a lot of headaches and money, replace the 2.3.
The exhaust system alone will cost a bunch.
