Well I'm back, if anybody remembers I bought a bayliner with rotten motor mounts and didn't know what to do with the boat. I put the boat up for sale and had some interest until I told them it had rotten mounts which probably meant complete stringer job and transom also. This scared them away everytime! Well a couple of weeks ago I had a couple of drinks and got a little bored. Ended up building a gantry and pulling the motor, last weekend pulled the floor. Much to my surprise the stringers looked and sounded solid when tapped with a hammer! Tonight I took some core samples in the spots I suspected could be bad and they are just like new. On too the transom............core samples were wet but not rotten, so, can I get by for a season or two and then do the transom or do I bite the bullet and just do it now and take some more time away from the water? I don't have a lot of spare time and would like to spend what I do have on the water so the least I have to do now the more chance I'll make it in the water this season. Here is some pics.
