Hello all! I hope you can help me identify some openings on my boat. There are 3 on the starboard side, 2 on the rear, and 1 on the port side. Pics attached... Do any of these need to be plugged before launching? The 2 on the back have rubber flappers, so I assume they do not need to be plugged... but what are they for? Any help greatly appreciated!!

Thanks!
Doug

They look like bilge pumps, livewell pumps, and baitwell pumps. You should not plug these as they need to be left open to discharge water. There should be a plug in the hole at the very back and bottom of the transom.

The ones on either side of the transom look like a self draining floor outlets. Is there a flap or plastic ball in those?

Hi rndn - Yes the ones on either side of the transom do have rubber flappers. So, even if the port is below the water line, it is OK? The one on the port side is below the water line, and I believe it goes to a live well... And yep - I know about the one at the very bottom of the transom... had experience with with that one on my previous boat... amazing how fast water can get through that little hole;)

Thanks!

1st picture forward is baitwell drain
1st picture rear looks like the Bilge pump outlet
2nd picture is fishwell drain
3rd picture looks like the scupper drain to allow water to drain from the cockpit ? Mine are located higher though.
4th picture is baitwell / raw awater intake

Hi Bob - Thanks for the reply!

----------------------------

1st picture forward is baitwell drain <--- figured this one out

1st picture rear looks like the Bilge pump outlet <--- this one to - I think

2nd picture is fishwell drain <--- this one to - I think

3rd picture looks like the scupper drain to allow water to drain from the cockpit ? Mine are located higher though. <--- this one to... I was surprised they are so low as well, but found the drain running from the rear cockpit corners to each of the through-hull ports with the flaps

4th picture is baitwell / raw awater intake <--- this one, I am still puzzled about... you say this could be an "intake"? For baitwell or raw water? I have not got in there and traced it back yet, so I will see...

Thanks again!
