Just bought this boat and motor, didn't take a pic of the Vin sorry. Was told it has an intermittent alarm that sounds and should ignore it. I have been an i/o guy for a while and my first outboard built after the 60's. If you have time please check out the video and any input would be appreciated. Engine is stone cold when I took the video https://youtu.be/FsW4KVXtW48

what are the chances the module is bad? it will beep beep beep whit key on engine off. beep beep beep with engine on then sometimes beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep with engine on and engine off. i had a constant beeeeeeeeeep and my IR thermometer was only reading in the 130's on the top of the head running on muffs. thanks

when key is turned on you should get whats called "self check beeps" before ya start motor.. should be a series of three beeps .. one a tad longer than tha other two...
on starboard head, right below number one plug, is tha over temp sensor.. tan wire from it should go to a small plastic term strip above electrical plate.. disconnect it at tha term... if constant beep goes away tha sensor is probably bad..
there is a purple going to tha module... separate it from module when its a steady beep with key on.. if beep stops module is junk...
tha sole reason for tha module is ta make a warning sensor beep oscillate ..
even though tha oiler warning and over heat use same buzzer they are completely isolated/different from each other.....

jus something ta think about.. a motor that age and new to you ya might think about oiler delete and pre-mix......

Thanks, after lots of reading and testing I ordered the the oil injection delete cover. I was getting a ground from the purple wire only, don't know if that tells you anything. The overheat sensor on the starboard side wasn't giving any ground. All I have to do is hope there is a plate on the fuel tank to get the mix correct. Looks like a 60 gallon tank from Google. It's an 87 grady white tournament 19.

tha purple is a "switched" 12v power, key on only... tha over temp only closes with a temp of 190 ta 210 usually but they do vary on tha closer temps..... you should be able ta "ground" tha screw its made up under on at tha term block with key on and get an alarm (continuous beep)....
