2.0, 4 cyl., belt is fine, hoses look good, plenty of fluid and 100K - could it be I need to flush old fluid? Feels like it has almost no power steering especially at slower apeeds. No belt squeal, all tight. Could it be the rack? Never had a pump go out before, Thanks

Fixed :) , sucked out old fluid, and replaced with new ATF, will redo again for the next few weeks.

The best way to flush a power steering pump is to remove the return line and extend it into a bucket.

Cap off the pump return inlet.

Fill the pump up with power steering fluid.

Have one person in the car and start it and ready to shut it off at a moments notice. Do not rev it up.

The other person keeps filling the pump on till clean fluid comes out into the bucket.

I would recommend using power steering fluid rather than ATF.

Power steering service and brake fluid changes are the forgotten services in the automotive industry.
