87 camry, where to get starter/solenoid repair kit?

4 cyl 3SFE, DOHC auto tranny, dealer here has to special order for $50???? I get a no start, bang solenoid and it fires. Reminds me of my old 64 Chevy truck, lol.

Your thinking $50 is too much to repair a starter on a 25 year old car?... I would feel pretty happy that its still available.

If you have the part number, call Sparks Toyota. They advertise some good prices on some of the yota websites; http://sparkstoyota.com/default.aspx

$50 is not a bad price at all, I would not hesitate to go with it. Now if you want to take your chances, you might do an ebay search.

Just did an ebay search and there is one listed on there for $23.99 plus $6.99 shipping. There is over 200 different listings on 87 camry starters...

A you could have fixed it for about 5.00 bucks. Just replace the solinoid contacks. Easy and cheep.
