87 dt 115 suzuki troubles need help

On the weekend my motor ran great but was stalling once and a while ,Then wouldn't start at all .I changed the starter and solenoid from a working boat and put in a new battery thought it might be the problem.The starter turns the motor over then heats up and drains the battery?Any help would be great going on holidays and kids want to go tubing.

"Outboard wont start". should get you on the right track.

Some time motor turn over but slow then starter heats up ans turn motor 1 click at time.I have a feeling something in the motor is not allowing the starter to turn over motor I have gotten it turn to fire a couple of times but won't run.Any help would be nice thanks.

check the battery cable from the engine to the battery. I had to replace mine on my dt140 this spring. too much corrosion in the cable causing resistance and heat. feel the cable and try to bend it it should be soft and supple . any stiff spots means the cable is no good.

Same thing happened to me, replaced the battery terminals, and was as good as new ....

Can I test it by using booster cables from my battery to my solenoid.

You can, but I will rather just replace the cables and terminals .....

Thanks for the I can get the boat to start but the bad news is there is damage inside can hear it must be a crank bearing gone.Looking at trading the boat in on a new seaswirl going to hurt the pocket book but got to do it for the family summers in Canada are short.
