Hi,

I am new to the forum.

Recently my motor has been running very rich at high speed. I can smell fuel and the performance is not very great.

I am sure that the carburators need to be adjusted. There are two carbs and I want to set them correctly. Has anyone ever done this proceedure on a dual carb?

Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks!

you MUST start by buying a factory or a Clymer service manual.

Do NOT attempt this without a manual.

The life of your engine depends on it.

Turn the air screw in till it just bottoms out. Then turn it out 1 to 1 1/8turns out.
As far as other adjustments. The floats can be adjusted but probably won't need any adjustment.Buy a manual.Jerry

The major problem with this carb is the float needle and seat, The needle does not have a rubber TIP, the seal is inside the brass seat in the carb body. The first time the carb gets a soak in carb cleaner the seal in ruined, There is a replacement needle and seat that has a rubber tipped needle, lots of luck on finding one. If Ritt doesn`t have them, try AAA marine repair in Crystal River Fl. I do not have pn for this part.

And if you take the carbs apart, do not mix the parts, the main jets are not the same size.
