Re: 87 Force 125 LF flywheel puller
When I pulled the flywheel on my force 120 powerhead (which I believe is almost identical to yours) I used a harmonic balancer puller that I bought from Advance Auto parts for $15. It looks a lot like a chicken's foot, or a peace sign without the circle. You only need to use 3 of the four bolt spots, (at 0, 120, and 240 degrees; or 4, 8, and 12 o'clock). Ignore the one at 6 o'clock and it will work fine. The other three line up perfectly. I had to buy different puller bolts for it at the hardware store as well as washers which were both easy and cheap. Alltogether it didn't cost me $20 for the whole thing and worked like it was made specifically for the job. Also didn't need specialty stores. The only issue with this method vs the special tool they actually make for this is you will have to hold the flywheel from spinning as you tighten the puller. You can get past this with an impact gun but many will advise you not to. If you choose to go this route use the lowest setting only and take your time and use the gun for a quarter turn at a time at most between tapping on the center of the puller itself. Hope this helps!
