how do I check the compresion on this engine?<br /><br />I have the engine on a 14' aluminum Flat bottom and since the engine is a 15hp I'm thinking that it should go a little faster that it does right now...But honestly I don't know....how can I check if the engine is doing "full performance"...in other words....could it go faster and if so....how can I find out.<br /><br />where is the water pump (impeller) located? <br /><br />thanks guys!<br /><br />thank you guys

You can use any automotive type compression gauge but even before that, if you plan on working on your engine, you're gonna need a service manual. It'll not only tell ya where the waterpump is, it'll tell ya how to work on it.
