88 45hp mariner issues

having trouble getting lower unit back on and when i do its not pissing....
brought it to the shop had a new water pump installed took it for a test run and had forward when i put motor in reverse and reverse when i put motor in forward fixed issue and put lowerunit up started on muffs and wasnt pissing dropped unit again and now wont go back up

It sounds like the water tube from the lower unit is lodged against the side of the connection receiver for the water tube. Take it off and while putting it back on watch for alignment.
