1988, 6hp evinrude longshaft. seems the retainer and link assembly is broken. the motor wont go past idle and i see the roller isnt touching the base at more than idle. it looks like the plastic part broke and it seems the part is nla. so anyone have any suggestions?
i see there is a plastic as well as a metal version. im confused??? can i use the older metal retainer vs the stupid plastic one?
part number is 0395883.
