88' 85 hp wiring after rebuild

Well hope you guys can help. I have a 1988 force 85 hp I rebuilt after melting number three she was runnin to lean. Bored her .040 over and hope she runs like hell when I'm done although I came to the wiring from the ignition controls and i'm fine with that although I cant figure out where to put the grounds and I have a coulple of holes in the block that need filled with something if ou know what I mean. If I could please get some pictures or some advice on where to put these wires. and how they feed through the shroud I waould greatly appreciate it. Clint email at toyotalexuskia@yahoo.com

If you have holes then YOU need to post pics. 40 over will probably need new jets in the carbs.Good luck finding them.
Grounds can be anywhere.Jerry

Well here is a pic of something that has stumped. This is the hose barb that I cant figure out what goes on it. This is a 1988 force 85hp. It is the barb to the right of the fuel pump and above the throttle cable.

I have a 1985 85 hp. here is a pic of what mine looks like. that barb has a line that attaches somewhere behind the pump

another question I have is that the number three blew the rings and that is the reason for the rebuild. I havent done anything with the carbs. Mainly because everytime I tear down a carb I lose something. When I first pulled the plug on that cylinder It didnt look like it was runnin lean compared to the other two. You said something about the jets is that necessary because of the larger cylinder bore.

timdan I cant see exactly where that hose is going from the barb I described, It looks as though it goes back toward the fuel pump. it that right?

yeah it goes back towards the pump. I can't tell either but I just wanted to give you an idea of where it goes. so you have a place to look
