'88 88 Evinrude First Failure
I have a '88 88 Evie and she has finally failed me while fishing this year. The boat cut off after several short runs to fishing locations of about 30 to 45 minutes of continous operation. After an extended period of time it will fire up and run like she always had. I think this is a classic (old timers jargon) power pack failure but I have not had any tools with me when the failure occured. Is there away to verify the system even after it appears to be operating properly since now on the water hose it runs fine and I can't create enough load or heat to simulate the failure to verify loss of spark or some other problem?
