i purchased a 1988 88hp johnson and would like to find a trim and tilt set up for it (probably through ebay). does anyone know what model ranges and years of omc t/t units will fit this engine or where i may be able to look it up online? ebay people aren't real helpful, they just know what it came off of. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

need more info on the engine, does it have tnt now, and if so does it work, or is the motor no good, finding the entire system aftermarket is impossible, ebay i wouldnt trust, you get someone elses heasache, if its parts you need, arco makes the motors aftermarket, everything else is oem

it doesn't have t/t now. i havr seen entire units on ebay that have been parted out from bad engines. most are at least bench tested. the problem is that they may come off a 70hp, 115hp, 100hp and so forth. most say that they will fit a range of engines... i just don't know what range and what years.

roscoe is correct.
you can get one on ebay but a good one will cost
$299 to $399. ( i know cause i check every other day for J/E parts )
with no warrenty.
sometimes you get a good deal with the buy it now.
-
the price they have here is 1/2 price of a new one
and atleast its rebuilt.
you might have to get the one of the early units with the box, due to not having it installed from the factory.

The CMC unit in the link I posted is new, for $438, not rebuilt.
