Motor started running a bit rough on a trip. A couple of days later it wouldn't start - no spark.
Powerpack checked bad (used DVA and resistance checks from the CDI website). Replaced pack and got spark back. Motor fired right up.
Now, though, it falls on it's face at about 3/4 throttle. Double checked all the connections and trigger, stator, and rectifier. Everything checks good.
Replaced fuel line and primer bulb from tank to motor fuel fitting and cleaned the fuel filter. Now here's where it gets weird. I didn't feel like casting off so for a test I butted the boat up to the dock and pinned the throttle. The motor wound up just like it should and sounded great at full throttle. Next day I took it out for a spin and the miss/bogging was back at 3/4 throttle. Just to make sure I wasn't imagining things I nosed it back into the dock and pinned the throttle. She ran like a champ.
I rebuilt the carb (and fuel pump since it's on the carb) this evening and it's having the same issue.
Any clues as to why the #$%^& thing will run loaded as hard as it can be (trying to push a concrete wall) but not out on the water?
Thanks in advance for any ideas!
