Hi, ( I did read a few posts before this, but not same problems, me thinks).
I have a 88 Alfa1 i/o. Replaced the complete drive with a NEW SE 106 upper and lower. Put it together with the great info here and with the instructions had everything lined up correctly and in forward, as per the info. I filled the case with penzoil marine gear juice and tested with ear muffs. Then out on the the lake. She ran like a champ in forward and reverse.
Trailered her for about a week, then tried to launch again but found no reverse. NOW, I found that my throttle/gear cable is bad, causeing the kill switch to not work correctly. I had stalls in neutral and /or clunk into reverse or forward. (Stop laughing I invoke the Newbie Clause 101-a.),
If my worst fears are true. Can anything be salvaged or am I looking at another 1300$ plus cable and new billows while im in waist deep
