On my Force 50hp the compression reading I am getting even on both cylinders is 90 psi (hot & cold). I have used 2 different compression gauges to test with and get the same reading on both.... They ARE Harbor Freight gauges so that may play a factor. I have read many reviews on Harbor Freight tools, where the specs of the tool say a way higher capacity than the tool can actually reach. Also re torqued the head and same exact 90 psi. It seems to be running fine. This is the only Force 50 motor I have had so I have nothing to compare it to. So I guess my question is, is if my compression really is 90 psi on both cylinders... will it be reliable enough to take out to the lake and not worry about it? If so how long should I expect it to last? And is there any other ways I should test the compression to get a higher reading?

Thanks for that! Ive been in the middle of a decarb for the last 2 days. Started 2 days ago went through half gallon of the gas/seafoam/2cycleoil mix and using deep creep as well. I shut it down after 2 sets of 1/4 gallon of the mix and soaked the cylinders with the deep creep and let sit overnight and will get back at the remaining 1/4 gallon mix and then run another compression test and see where Im at. It was still smoking pretty good too. I will post results for any interested in this procedure and compression in general.

WOW 60 views and 1 reply! Well I finished the decarb. I did more decarb than normal, running approx 1 1/4 gallons with 1 1/2 cans sea foam and one can of deep creep through 5 intervals and 2 nights of deep creep soaking. Still have 90 psi in each cylinder! Hahahaha I guess it doesnt help everyone. It seems to run slightly smoother and thats about it... Probably cleaned the carburetor a bit. I guess I will try a head gasket next and if that doesnt work, a rebuild. Probably just rings and hone. Who knows? Any suggestions?
