Ive found a bf15 honda in as good a condition as I could expect for its 26 years. Its been regularly serviced and used a little bit every year over that time.

Its going for $250. Would this be a good bye or should I run a mile?

Am a 4 stroke novice, so Im not sure about having it shipped to me, can they be laid down?

Urgent help needed as they want an answer within 24 hours otherwise selling to family for less.

As always, best not to buy sight-unseen. You should get a compression test and cooling check, and hear it run to determine mechanical noises (if any). If used in salt, the motor may well not have much life left due to internal corrosion.

After the crankcase is drained, the motor can be shipped in any orientation. When filled, you must not lay it on the wrong side, which could allow oil to go into the wrong places, or risk either liquid lock of the cylinders, or oil leaking out of the vent all over the place.

$250.00???

Boy; for a 4-stroke 15??? I'd be asking what's wrong with it at that price....

nothing that i could see, ran sweet, pumped water well and had long proof of service history. i ended up passing up on it though as the prior post made me a bit concerned site unseen.
